Founded in 1993 the Irish Construction Excellence Awards (ICE Awards) are the original and premier recognition of performance excellence for the contracting sector in Ireland. Entry to the Awards is open to Building Contractors, Civil Engineering Contractors, Specialist M&E Contractors, Specialist Contractors, Construction Product Suppliers and Third Level Colleges offering certain construction related courses.

GLF Facades are delighted to have won the 2026 Judges Silver Award for the College Square Project.

The project stood out for its innovative façade design, incorporating over 1,600 prefabricated unitised curtain wall panels based on the GLF ECO90 system, which can be supplied in 100% post‑consumer recycled aluminium to support ambitious sustainability goals.

A particularly unique aspect of the project was the integration of large terracotta fins into the curtain wall system. This required the development of bespoke aluminium extrusions to overcome significant engineering challenges while maintaining the architectural vision. The successful delivery of this solution demonstrated innovation, technical excellence, and close collaboration across the project team.
